East Belfast Off-License Robbed At Knifepoint
An off-licence in east Belfast has been robbed by a man armed with a butcher's knife.
The man went into the shop on the Woodstock Road just before 21:30 BST on Sunday and threatened staff.
He stole cash and made off along the Woodstock Road in the direction of Cregagh Road.
The robber was described as being about 6ft tall and was wearing an orange hooded top with the hood pulled up. Police have appealed for witnesses.
Cookstown Bomb Alert A Hoax
A bomb alert that began in Cookstown on Monday morning has ended.
A suspicious object was discovered on the Drum Road close to the Teebane roundabout at about 08:00am.
Traffic was diverted while the area was examined, but the alert was declared a hoax on Monday evening.
A controlled explosion was carried out and a number of items removed for forensic examination.
Derry City Council To Refuse Collection Of Overfilled Bins
Derry City Council has confirmed that from this July bins found to be too heavy or without a fully closed lid will not be picked up,
The council said the policy was because of health and safety concerns.
Claiming that the use of blue recycling bins should mean less waste goes into black bins, chairman of the council's environmental services committee, Shaun Gallagher said: "A really heavy bin going up the hydraulics at the back of a bin lorry has the potential to flip off."
"It can flip off on to a council employee or a member of the public."

Belfast City Council has confirmed it will be introducing changes to some of its bin collections over the next few months – with an increasing emphasis on recycling. Some 5,500 householders in the south of the city soon will be getting their blue bins.

Belfast council unveil recycling plans
Belfast City Council today announced plans for an improved bin collection service – with the main emphasis on recycling. Over recent weeks, 11,000 homes in south Belfast have received new brown bins, for garden waste. These compliment their blue bins – which from next month will take paper as well as cardboard, plastic bottles, tins and cans.
