Three Weeks Til Coca-Cola Funding Deadline
Coca-Cola today issued a reminder to non-profit organisations across the island of Ireland to apply for a share of a £103,000 funding pot.
The drinks company's Thank You Fund is making the cash – a total of €125,000 – available to community and voluntary groups promoting active lifestyles in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.
But the deadline is three weeks away and entries must be in by July 6, 2012.
Ten projects from a shortlist judged by a panel including Coca-Cola, The Wheel and the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action (NICVA) will win €10,000 each.
One overall winner, which organisers said must be a "creative, innovative initiative capable of being replicated in other communities", will receive €25,000.
The final decision after shortlisting will be decided in part by a public vote.
Previous grant winners include Special Olympics Ireland, Irish Dogs for the Disabled and the Titans Basketball Club.
To apply, visit www.coca-cola.ie/thankyou.
Maire Campbell of Coca-Cola said the awards were designed for projects which "will help people adopt and enjoy more active lifestyles".
She said: "We are especially interested in hearing about new and innovative ideas which need seed funding to get off the ground and good ideas which we can help make a reality. We would encourage all community and voluntary groups which are working within this arena to apply!"
A shortlist of 45 organisations will be published on the Coca-Cola website on September 1st, 2012. The winners will be announced by November 2012.
