Antrim-Based MD Golf Secures Aston Martin Licence Deal

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has congratulated Antrim company MD Golf on securing a global licence to develop and sell Aston Martin branded golf equipment.

The Minister extended her congratulations to David Millsopp during her visit to the Irish Open held at Royal Portush. Together with Michael Morton, David established the business in 1996.

The award-winning company, which designs and manufactures their own high quality branded golf clubs, secured a similar licence agreement deal with the legendary Spanish golfer, Seve Ballesteros in 2008. MD Golf has now signed a global licence deal to develop and sell Aston Martin branded golf equipment including golf clubs, accessories and clothing.

Invest Northern Ireland has continued to help the business undertake extensive marketing development activities globally including supporting MD Golf’s participation at the prestigious PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando in 2010.

Arlene Foster said: “This deal is an exciting new venture for MD Golf which has established itself as a serious player in the international market.

“Invest Northern Ireland’s support has already helped it secure lucrative deals and distribution arrangements and this latest agreement will provide a prestigious platform to expand its global sales.”
