Foster Welcomes Entrepreneurial Swing Of Coleraine Golf Business

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster today welcomed a £84,000 investment by Dunluce Golf in Coleraine, aimed at boosting its online sales.

Dunluce Golf was established in 2009 by Peter Elliott and supplies golf equipment and accessories to customers worldwide through its online operation and its business unit at the Causeway Enterprise Centre.

In a bid to exploit the global demand for purchasing golfing equipment over the internet, Dunluce Golf is implementing a robust online media strategy and appointing a new Sales and Marketing Manager to drive its extensive market development activities. Invest Northern Ireland has offered the firm over £26,000 of support towards the investment.

Following a discussion with Mr Elliott at Royal Portrush during the Irish Open, Arlene Foster said: “Peter Elliott is a keen and capable entrepreneur who is determined to drive the utmost potential from the online market.

“This investment supported by Invest Northern Ireland will help to scale the Dunluce Golf online business model to the next stage of growth and beyond, positioning the company competitively to secure further export sales.”

Peter Elliott said: “I realised quickly that broadening the scope of the business to adopt an online model provided greater opportunities to reach new customers, to achieve repeat sales and offer bespoke packages as well as our own branded products.

“While our performance to date is extremely encouraging, my objective is to achieve over 90% of our sales online and ultimately build a worldwide recognised brand offering a larger portfolio of products. The recruitment of a Sales and Marketing Manager will be key to reaching this goal and to supporting the further growth of the business.”
