Factory Cleaner Traps Arm In Machinery

Firefighters have freed a man's right arm from food machinery he was cleaning.

The 29-year-old was working in the bakery section of the Linwoods food company in County Armagh when his arm got trapped.

It is understood his arm is badly damaged.

The Health and Safety Executive has launched an investigation.

£30,000 Worth Of Clothes Recovered From Shoplifter

A woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of £30,000 worth of clothing.

The 52-year-old was arrested in Ballymena and clothing was retrieved after a house was raided.

Councillor Audrey Wales, the chair of the town's new Police and Community Safety Partnership, asked the public to buy clothes from reputable shops and support the local economy.

NI Man Collapses During Weightlifting Bid

A man from Omagh collapsed in England at the weekend when an attempt to break a world record in weightlifting went wrong.

David Graham, 25, was taking part in the attempt to lift the weight of nearly six Boeing 747s in 24 hours and raise money for the Help for Heroes charity.

He had lifted 403,000kg and was just 72,065kg off hitting the record-holder's amount when he collapsed and was taken to hospital.

Mr Graham told the Tyrone Constitution newspaper he was in hospital for two days "as a precaution".

Man Attacked During Robbery In Ballymena
Police are appealing for information after a man was left badly shaken after being hit on the head during a robbery at a house in Ballymena. Three masked men, armed with a hatchet, crowbar and suspected gun, broke in through the window of a property in the Pillar Brae Road area just before 11.45pm on Monday, 17 September.

Pensioners Left Badly Shaken Following Burglary In Co Armagh
Two pensioners have been left badly shaken after a group of men burgled their home in Co Armagh. The incident happened at a house in the Portadown Road area of Tandragee just after 9.30pm on Thursday, 09 March. They threatened the pair, tied them up and locked them in the bathroom. The suspects made off with a sum of cash.

Two men arrested following pensioner robbery
Two men have been arrested in connection to the robbery of a pensioner's home in Co Down yesterday. The 93-year-old man suffered cuts to his ear and an arm injury when he confronted two men who had climbed through a bedroom window at his Hillsborough home at around 8.45am on Tuesday. The robbers escaped with a sum of money.

Two injured in shooting incident
A teenage boy and a man have been treated in hospital after a shooting in County Down. The attack happened at about 7.30pm on Monday at Barcroft Park, Newry, when four shots from a shotgun were fired from a car. The 30-year-old man and 14-year-old boy were taken to Daisy Hill Hospital in the town, where they were treated for pellet wounds.
