Lisburn Hosts Musicals Show This Weekend
A PIPING hot slice of New York style musical theatre is set to storm a Lisburn stage this weekend.
Organisers of Broadway Fever said the audience would be singing songs from the hit shows for days afterwards.
The show will be staged at Lisburn's Island Hall on July 28 and will be opened by the West End Stars of Flash dance.
Belfast's Showcase Productions will stage the fully choreographed production which will feature famous songs from hit musicals such as Sister Act, Chicago and Shrek. Other shows which have been sampled include Oliver and The Producers.
Just like in any Broadway theatre there will be a cocktail reception so audience members can chill out and make a night of it. Daybreak Northern Ireland presenter, Paul Reilly, will also add a little glitz to the night as compere.
Lisburn man, Simon Cunningham, who runs Showcase Productions said the production is perfect for theatre lovers and musical novices alike.
He said: "This promises to be a fantastic show featuring performances from some of the country’s top professional actors, singers and dancers. It will be a cracking night out. There will also be a raffle on the night with some impressive prizes on offer."
In addition to taking in a top class show, Broadway Fever audiences will also be helping charity by coming along to the see the show with all proceeds going to NI Cancer Fund for Children.
Simon and the cast are generously working free of charge in order to stage this production and raise funds for the charity which offers practical, emotional and financial support to young people with cancer and their families.
