Coleraine's Olympian Rowers Welcomed Home
Northern Ireland's Olympic medal winning rowers have returned to the Bann Rowing Club in Coleraine, where they learnt their skills.
Team GB rowers Richard and Peter Chambers took silver in the lightweight fours, while Alan Campbell won a bronze in the single sculls.
The trio were cheered at Belfast City Airport when they arrived back this morning, and appeared in the town centre this afternoon to meet fans.
Speaking ahead of the homecoming welcome, Coleraine's deputy mayor, Alderman Maura Hickey, said the rowers' success was "an overwhelming result for Coleraine and for sport throughout this country".
Alan's mother Jenny Campbell, told the BBC: "I'm just so proud that Alan has used every ounce of his God-given talents."
Sports Minister Caral Ni Chuilin said: "To compete at an Olympic Games is a fantastic achievement: it takes years of effort, dedication and sacrifice, not to mention the support of coaching staff, family and countless others.
"Winning an Olympic medal is a step up again. It indicates that an athlete has joined the elite and ensures not only recognition in their field but also a place in history.
"Peter Chambers, Richard Chambers and Alan Campbell have made it to the very top of their sport. Through their hard-earned personal success they have brought rowing to much wider attention.
"Everyone in the North can be proud of this, but particularly here in their home town of Coleraine, which can now claim to be the nurturing ground for three Olympians. I am pleased to be here to welcome these three medalists and join in this celebration of their success."

76-Year-Old Coleraine Man Jailed For Sexual Assault Of A Child
A 76-year-old Coleraine man has been sentenced to nine years at Laganside Crown Court for three counts of sexual assault of a child. The man, who cannot be named in order to protect the victim's identity, will serve four years in prison and five years on licence.

Ulster Bank Seeks 60 Redundancies
Finance union IBOA has expressed concerns after the Ulster Bank told staff it is seeking up to 60 redundancies from its branches in Northern Ireland. The bank also said it is to stop Saturday opening hours at 11 of its branches from 07 May.

Police Appeal For Missing Coleraine Man Andrew Smith
Police are appealing for information to trace missing Coleraine man Andrew Smith. Mr Smith, 28, was last seen in the Ballysally area at around midnight. He is believed to have been driving a white Ford Focus. A PSNI spokesperson said: "We are keen to establish Andrew's whereabouts and that he is safe and well. Police can be contacted on 101.

Dog Attacked In Coleraine Fails To Recover
Police are appealing for information after a dog was attacked at its owner's home on Co L'Derry. The jack russell is believed to have been struck with a "blunt object" several times in the garden of a property on Maple Drive, Coleraine, on Sunday morning. The dog did not recover and had to be put down.
