Lunn Welcomes Rise In Turnover For NI's Top 100 Businesses

Alliance Enterprise spokesperson Trevor Lunn MLA has welcomed the news from Ulster Business Magazine that the annual turnover for Northern Ireland's top 100 businesses has risen to £19.8 billion from £17.6 billion, but that we must do more to support the small businesses which make up the vast amount of businesses here.

Mr Lunn MLA said: "This is obviously great news that turnover for some of our largest companies have increased. This rise will be a boost to our economy and could point to potential signs that we are on the road to recovery from the economic downturn that started five years ago but it still having an impact today.

"While this is good news for the our largest companies, most businesses here are defined as small or medium sized and there is a lot more we should be doing to help them.

"They face problems that these large businesses do not, such as accessing finance from banks which the Executive must do more to help them with.

"If we do not help our small businesses then we will find it very hard to get our economy back on track."
