Shopkeepers call on police to tackle city centre crime
Shopkeepers in Belfast city centre have called on police to tackle, what they call, an upsurge in crime in recent weeks.
A number of shops in the city centre were targeted over the weekend and this spree has continued into the week.
The latest shop to be attacked was a women's boutique store in Donegall Place. The retail shop was damaged in an overnight ram-raid attack on Tuesday.
The thieves crashed a car through the shop's front doors and stole thousands of pounds worth of clothes.

Belfast Named 'Fairtrade City'
The first in a series of road signs proclaiming Belfast's status as a Fairtrade City has been unveiled on one of the city's main arterial routes. The sign was unveiled by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Nichola Mallon, on the Antrim Road, opposite the entrance to Belfast Zoo.

There are hopes today that a potential new customer will be found for a beleaguered Londonderry call centre. Just last Friday it emerged that more than 400 jobs could go at the Stream International call centre in the city within two months, if new work isn't found.
