Man suffers fractured skull in Portrush attack

A 22-year-old man is in hospital with a fractured skull following an attack in Portrush overnight.

The man, had been in a nightclub before the attack in Eglinton Street at about 2.30am this morning, also a broken jaw and nose in the attack.

Elsewhere, a 27-year-old man from south Belfast has been arrested in connection to a serious assault last week.

It follows the stabbing of a man 12 times in the Laganbank Road area of Belfast on Friday.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

PSNI Appeal For Information After Cars Set Alight In North Belfast
The PSNI have appealed for information after four cars were set alight in north Belfast. Police say the suspected arson attack happened at around 22:30 on Tuesday night on the Whitewell Road. It is understood no one was injured in the incidents.

Two questioned following stabbing
A man has been stabbed in the throat, ear and hands in a knife attack in County Down. The man, aged 27, was attacked at around 9.30pm on Sunday in the South Street area of Newtownards. He made his way to a house in Holywood and was then taken to hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

Man Shot In North Belfast
A man is being treated in hospital following a shooting incident in north Belfast. Police have reported that a 20-year-old man was injured in a paramilitary-style shooting at about 01:00 on Monday morning at Havana Walk in Ardoyne. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening. An investigation into the shooting is underway.
