Further 100 Jobs For Waterford City
Fine Gael Waterford Deputy, Paudie Coffey, has welcomed the announcement of a further 100 jobs for Waterford city.
The jobs are to be created by Eishtec, which is a Waterford based call centre company that was established less than two years and that has grown to a point now where it will employ over 500 people in the city.
Mr Coffey said: "I was happy to work with Colm Treacy, Brian Barry and Heather Reynolds; the Directors of Eishtec in the earlier stages of their business development. They are Waterford based entrepreneurs investing in their own region with the support of Enterprise Ireland. They and their staff are to be commended on their success and quick rate of growth in a competitive industry.
"Waterford suffered job losses in Talk Talk last year when 575 people were let go with no notice; despite being a highly productive and efficient workforce. It must be pointed out that Eishtec now employs more people in the South East Region than Talk Talk ever did.
"Eishtec is a prime example of entrepreneurs with expertise willing to take a risk and create employment which will help to stimulate economic activity in Waterford. This is an extremely positive announcement and it is down to the hard work, effort and ambition of the management of Eishtec and their staff since its establishment.
"This is a Waterford-based company that has proven itself and has acknowledged that the South East Region is the best place to invest and expand its business. Eishtec is now one of the largest employers in the South East Region and I am hopeful that it will continue to grow and expand."

Government Will Support Redundant Waterford Workers
Every effort will be made by the Government to find new jobs for hundreds of Waterford Crystal employees facing redundancy, Minister for Finance Brian Cowen has told the Dáil. Tánaiste Mr Cowen, who was deputising for the Taoiseach, said the job losses were trade-related and inevitable.
