Seven PSNI officers injured in car chase
A man has been arrested and seven PSNI officers injured after a high speed car chase in west Belfast early this morning.
The incident happened at around 1.20am when a police officer approached a vehicle on the Whiterock Road. However, when the officer bent down to speak to the driver through the car window the vehicle sped off dragging the officer along with it.
The officer eventually fell free with only slight bruising to his shoulder.
The car then continued to drive at speed through west Belfast before being halted by a police "stinger" device. But not before the vehicle rammed into two Land Rovers and a police car.
The officers inside suffered back and leg injuries but are not thought to be serious.
