B.I.C. Systems carries out innovative ‘hands on’ training

B.I.C. Systems, a leading technology solutions provider in Ireland and the UK, has won a contract to provide training in new Microsoft technologies to Microsoft Ireland’s channel partners in this market.

The company has been selected to deliver a series of unique training courses to channel partners on Microsoft technologies in both Dublin and Belfast. The training courses are known as “Hands On Labs”.

The Hands on Labs are geared towards providing intensive training in the use of new technologies and solutions, such as .Net, Visual Studio; Windows 2003 Server and Active Directory. B.I.C. Systems provides a total of ten courses, all of which are delivered in a one-day classroom format.

The concept for the courses was created after Microsoft’s partners expressed a demand for training in Microsoft technologies to be delivered in a once-off, academic environment. B.I.C. Systems was selected to deliver the courses, a selection based on the company’s extensive experience in the training solutions area.

Colin Cassidy, Partner Development Manager, Microsoft Ireland, said: “The reason that we chose to partner with B.I.C. Systems on this important initiative is because of the skill sets we required. B.I.C. Systems has the personnel and the expertise to provide the necessary training solutions for our channel partners through the ‘Hands on Lab’ environment”.

“We rolled out the Hands on Labs on a trial basis to partners last August and the response was so positive that they are now being provided regularly. It’s turned out to be the most effective way for us to skill our partners in new Microsoft technologies; and the satisfaction in responses is proving that,” said Cassidy.

Anne Clydesdale, director of training, B.I.C. Systems, said: “We are delighted to partner with Microsoft under this initiative and we believe that this reflects our increasing status as one of the leading providers of training solutions in this market”.

B.I.C. Systems is a leading IT solutions company, delivering business advantage through technology and skills to the public and private sectors in Ireland and the UK.

Founded in 1984, B.I.C. Systems has offices in Belfast and Dublin and currently employs more than 150 people.
