Two pensioners injured in separate burglaries

Two pensioners have been severely traumatised following separate burglaries at their homes in north Belfast and Co Down.

A woman in her 90's was injured after three men forced their way into her home at Chichester Road in north Belfast.

The masked men ransacked a downstairs room before making off with a sum of money.

The woman was eventually taken to hospital with bruising to her face.

Meanwhile, a 79-year-old woman was left in a state of shock after she woke to find four masked men in her home in Moody Park, Scarva.

The men forced the elderly woman in a bedroom demanding money. However despite searching the house they eventually left empty handed.

Appeal After Masked Men Force Entry Into Home Of Elderly Man
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after five masked me forced entry into the home of an man aged in his 70s, on the Saintfield Road. Police received a report shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday, 17th February that between 10pm and 10.30pm on the same evening, five masked men entered a house in the Saintfield Road area.

Masked Men Steal Cash And Car From Pensioners Home In South Belfast
Three masked men entered a pensioners home in south Belfast and stole cash and a car. The incident occurred in the Ailesbury Drive area on Wednesday night. At around 10.30pm, a man answered the door of his home and three masked men entered and demanded money. They made off with a sum of money and also stole their silver Toyota Avensis.

Men Sentenced For Ballymena Drug And Money Laundering Operation
Three men were sentenced for offences linked to a drugs and money laundering operation in the Ballymena area yesterday, 31 January. At Antrim Crown Court, Troy Carley (27), Neil Lowry (30) and Marc Mitchell (32) were sentenced for a number of offences.
