Two Arrested Over Dissident Republican Activity

Two people have been arrested in L'Derry following an investigation into dissident republican activity.

The woman, 43, and the man, 44, were arrested in the Marlborough Avenue area on Monday.

They are currently being questioned at Antrim police station.

Police Treat L'Derry Bonfire As 'Hate Incident'
A bonfire that displayed flags relating to a soldier facing prosecution for Bloody Sunday murders is being treated as a hate incident. Parachute Regiment was placed on the pyre before it was set alight in the Bogside area of L'Derry on Thursday evening, 15 August. Union flags were also set alight as thousands watched on.

Alleged UVF Threats Made At Lisnasharragh
An alleged UVF threat has been made against contractors working on a leisure centre in east Belfast. It is understood that work may be halted at Lisnasharragh Leisure Centre, the site of the former Robinson Centre, due to threats lodged by the paramilitary group.
