PSNI Investigate Dissident Activity

The PSNI is currently carrying out searches in the south Armagh area in connection with investigations into dissident republican activity.

Detectives from Serious Crime Branch are carrying out searches in Newry, Bessbrook and Meigh.

Suffolk Estate Attacked Again

A protestant estate in the Suffolk area of west Belfast has come under a second attack.

Police are appealing for information after a car window was smashed with a stone on Monday.

Police attended the scene but did not find anyone in the area.

The incident is being treated as a sectarian hate crime.

It follows an incident last week, during which a group of 100 nationalist youths damaged cars and attacked properties in the area.

Man Receives Broken Jaw During Attack

A man has received a broken jaw during an attack in west Belfast.

The 33-year-old victim was approached by three men while walking his dog in the Jasmine End area of Twinbrook on the evening of 21 July.

One of the men punched the victim and he was knocked unconscious.

He has since been taken to hospital and has received surgery on his jaw.

Sinn Féin MLA Investigated Over Royal Retweet

A Sinn Féin MLA is to be investigated by Stormont's standards watchdog, following a retweet of a comment about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The tweet is reported to have been of a sexual nature.

The incident occurred just before the birth of the Royal baby last week.

TUV leader Jim Allister reported the incident to the Assembly's Commissioner for Standards.

PSNI Investigates Arson Attack In L'Derry
The PSNI have launched an investigation into an arson attack in L'Derry on Monday, 11 March. At around 11.30pm last night, it was reported to police that two vehicles were on fire in the Grainan Drive area. Police and NIFRS attended the scene. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Two other vehicles were also damaged as a result of the fire.

PSNI Assistant Chief Officer, Aldrina Magwood, has welcomed the positive findings of His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) report. HMICFRS has published its review of its inspection of crime data integrity of the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

PSNI Conduct Road Safety Operation In L'Derry
The PSNI have carried out vehicle check points, speed checks and proactive patrolling in a road safety operation in L'Derry on Tuesday, 26 March. Local Response Policing Team (LPT) officers conducted high visibility checkpoints and patrols in areas including Eglinton, in the Waterside and Cityside.
