£337k Belfast Resurfacing Scheme Announced

A £337,000 resurfacing scheme is to begin next week on Massey Avenue in Belfast.

The scheme will involve the resurfacing of footways and the carriageway in the street and is expected to take approximately seven weeks to complete.

Throughout the duration of the work, two-way traffic flow will be maintained along Massey Avenue.

However, one footway will be closed as it is being reconstructed.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times on the opposite footway. Local access to all properties will be maintained throughout the works.

Towards the end of the scheme, full road closures of Massey Avenue will be undertaken to enable the final surfacing to be laid on the carriageway.

Minister Danny Kennedy said: "The improvements will result in the overall strengthening of the road and road users will quickly realise the benefits of the new carriageway surface."
