Man Attacked In Ballymena

A man is believed to have been beaten in Ballymena.

The attack happened in the Sentry Hill area on Tuesday afternoon.

It is understood he was beaten, stripped naked and put in a bin which was later set on fire.

The victim is currently in a stable condition in hospital.

The Ulster Unionist Party's North Antrim Assemblyman Robin Swann said: "I am shocked at reports that a man was assaulted and left in a bin in a public park.

"This is certainly not what anyone in Ballymena wants or expects to see. I would appeal to anyone who can assist the Police to catch whoever was responsible to come forward immediately."
