Local bosses see the safety light
Northern Ireland bosses have seen the light when it comes to health and safety in the workplace, according the RoSPA, The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
For their efforts in the past twelve months, four local companies have been rewarded for their workplace safety record at the annual RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards, which are sponsored by the RMC Group plc.
Blackbourne M&E Services, United Hospitals Health & Social Services Trust and the John Henderson Group were presented with their awards at a special presentation ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.
John Howard, RoSPA Director of Safety Policy, said: "This awards are not just about short-term reductions in the number of injuries and cases of ill health at work, they are about ensuring that organisations have robust health and safety management systems in place for the longer term.
"The awards reflect the message that good health and safety reflects good business management and clearly demonstrates to staff and other stakeholders an organisation's success in this crucial but often invisible area."
