Man Arrested Over £300k Cocaine Seizure
A 29-year-old man has been charged with drugs offences in Co Down after police seized cocaine worth an estimated £300k.
The man is accused of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply and possessing a medicinal product without prescription.
The charges follow the search of a vehicle and a property in the Castlewellan and Downpatrick areas on Tuesday.
Police Appeal Over 'Meat Cleaver' Robbery
Detectives in north Belfast are appealing for information following an armed robbery on Tuesday evening.
At about 19:35, a male entered a commercial premises in the Ballygomartin Road area armed with what is believed to be a cleaver and demanded money
He made off with a sum of cash and is believed to have headed in the Cairnmartin Road area.
The male is described as being well built, approximately 5'8" tall and wearing a balaclava and a blue hooded top.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact CID in Tennent Street Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
Arrest Follows Dissident Probe
A 33-year-old man has been arrested in west Belfast as part of a police probe into dissident republican activity.
He was detained on Wednesday morning by detectives from PSNI's Serious Crime Branch and taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
Two Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
Two people were convicted at Belfast Magistrates court yesterday for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Sarah Veighey (34) of Craigmore Way, Belfast claimed Incapacity Benefit and Housing Benefit totalling £17,340 while failing to declare employment. She was given 200 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £58.
Margaret McKinney (41) of Longlands Avenue, Newtownabbey claimed Income Support totalling £3,958 while failing to declare capital.
She was given a six month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to pay court costs of £37.
Both are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.

Man questioned about 1988 murder
A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.

A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.
