Man Dies Following Motorcycle Accident

A man has died following a motorcycle accident in east Belfast.

The crash occurred at about 5.30pm at Orangefield Grove on Thursday afternoon.

The man, thought to be in his 40s, was taken to the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald.

Man Released Over Catholic Church Attacks

A 52-year-old man who was arrested by police over attacks on a Catholic church in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, has been released without charge.

In September, St Mary's Star of the Sea church on the Shore Road was damaged in a petrol bomb attack and paint was thrown at the front door.

The man was arrested on Thursday afternoon in Newtownabbey.

Gas Explosion Victim Remains In Hospital

A man who was injured in a gas explosion on Monday night in L'Derry remains in a critical condition in hospital.

42-year-old Trevor McNeill was transferred from Altnagelvin Hospital in the city to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

The explosion occurred at a house in the Bond Street area at about 10.35pm on Monday.

Homes Evacuated After Maghera Fire

Homes have been evacuated in Maghera, Co L'Derry following a fire that broke out in a shed.

Emergency services were called to the Crew Road shortly after 16:20 on Thursday.

Three fire appliances attended and the road was closed at the time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Man Dies In Co L'Derry House Fire
A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Serious Road Crash In L'Derry
A serious road crash has occurred on the Chapel Road in L'Derry. A car and a motorbike where involved in the incident, according to the police. One man, believed to be a teenager, has been taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be serious. The road has been closed at its junctions with Newlyn Terrace and Spencer Road.

Man Dies In Portadown Road Crash
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Portadown. The crash happened on the Dungannon Road between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, 08 November. The road has been re-opened. Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 30's, has died in a road collision in Co Antrim.

Investigation After Man Dies At NI Harbour
An investigation is underway after a man died at Warrenpoint Harbour, County Down. Emergency services attended the scene at around 2.30pm on Thursday afternoon, 18 July. The casualty is believed to have been a worker at the harbour, and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed about the incident.
