Men In Court Over £100k Drugs Seizure
Police have arrested two men in connection with the discovery of suspected class A drugs with an estimated value of £100k in Newry, County Down.
The 38 and 37-year-old were arrested on Sunday as part of an operation by PSNI's Organised Crime Branch.
The men are due to appear at Newry Magistrates' Court this morning.
Clocked Car Trader Fined
A Ballycastle Car Trader who sold a clocked car has been fined a total of £1,000 and conditionally discharged for two years at Coleraine Magistrates' Court.
Oliver McHenry pleaded guilty to seven charges under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
The charges related to the sale of one vehicle on which the mileage had been reduced and the advertisement of several others in which Mr McHenry concealed the fact that he was a car trader.
In January 2013, a consumer bought a Mercedes car from Mr McHenry with 90,800 miles on the clock only later to discover that the car had previously travelled in excess of 170,000 miles. McHenry also fail to disclose to the consumer that he was a car trader.
Man In Court Over Co. Down Rape
A 23-year-old man is due to appear in court today to face charges of raping a woman in Bangor, Co Down.
He was arrested in connection with the incident, which happened on Saturday.
He is due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates' Court accused of rape and other offences.
Man Fined Over Illegal Waste
A Ballycastle man has been fined £918 for illegally depositing, keeping and treating waste.
Mr Frank McHenry, 56, of Torr Road, Ballycastle, County Antrim, was fined a total of £918 at Coleraine Magistrates Court for breaches of waste management legislation.
The charges relate to an inspection in June 2011 of lands off the Glenshesk Road, Ballycastle, where investigators found an estimated 160 tonnes of controlled waste including tarmac, concrete, kerbstone, plastic, metal, polystyrene and electrical cable.
Mr McHenry who owned the land at Glenshesk Road, pleaded guilty on 4 September to two charges of depositing controlled waste without there being in place an exemption or licence.
He was fined £500 and £418 respectively plus court costs of £82 and an offenders levy of £15.

Two Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
Two people were convicted at Belfast Magistrates court for claiming benefits they were not entitled to. Gerard Browne, 29, of Summerhill Drive, Belfast was given 12 months probation and ordered to pay court costs of £22 for wrongful encashment of Incapacity Benefit totalling £377.

Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Man Stabbed In Co Down
A 36-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Co Down. The 54-year-old victim was stabbed in the Manor Court area in Moira on Monday. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital. The woman is to appear at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A man has been charged with arson after a parked car was set on fire on Co Down. The incident happened in the Shorelands Crescent area of Cloughey in the early hours of Thursday morning, 23 June. The 29-year-old suspect is due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates Court today, 24 June.

IRA blamed for murder during ceasefire
The IRA have today been blamed for the murder of a suspected drug dealer during their ceasefire five-years-ago it has emerged. Christopher 'Cricky' O'Kane was shot dead, by a gang of up to four masked men, as he got out of his car outside his home in Currynierin, in the Waterside area of Londonderry in April 2001.
