Police Seize £100,000 Cannabis
Police have seized an estimated £100,000 worth of cannabis that was posted to an address in south Belfast.
The haul was recovered by police on Tuesday.
Woman Shaken After Portrush Arson Attack
A woman has suffered an arson attack on her home in Portrush.
Two masked men have been seen throwing a petrol bomb at a window in the Glentaisie Park at about midnight on Wednesday.
The window did not break but was damaged in the incident.
Father And Son Sentenced Over Illegal Speedometers
A Craigavon father and son have been given custodial sentences for operating an illegal tachograph or speedometer centre
Mr Raymond Pedlow, of Pedlow Tachograph Centre, was today sentenced to two years six months, suspended for three years, at Craigavon Crown Court, for illegally operating a tachograph centre.
His son, Mr Barry Pedlow, who was employed by the Company, also pleaded guilty to installing or calibrating the equipment, and was sentenced to an immediate custodial sentence consisting of two years six months; one year three months in custody and one year three months on licence.
Investigations revealed that some 1,100 vehicles had tachograph equipment fitted or calibrated illegally by the company bringing it in income of over £120,000.
Two Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
Two people were convicted at Lisburn Magistrates' court yesterday for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Patrick Quigley (37) of Ardane Gardens, Lisburn claimed Carers Allowance and Jobseekers Allowance totalling £6,445 while failing to declare employment. He was given a three month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to pay court costs of £10.
David McInnes (28) of Gallows Street, Dromore claimed Jobseekers Allowance totalling £4,684 while failing to declare capital. He was given 200 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £37.
Both are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

Four Convicted Over Clocked Cars
Four drivers have pleaded guilty and been convicted at Newry Crown Court for offences connected to fraud and forgery of tachograph (speedometer) records. Mr Sean Thornton, of Newry Road, Crossmaglen, was sentenced to 11 months imprisonment, suspended for two years.

'Peru Two' Sentenced
Two women arrested in Peru on suspicion of drug smuggling have been sentenced to six years and eight months in prison. Michaella McCollum, from Dungannon, County Tyrone and Melissa Reid from near Glasgow in Scotland will serve their sentences in Peru.

A 26-year-old man who was found guilty of the manslaughter of a policeman in County Donegal has been jailed for a further four months for offences following his escape from prison last week. Martin McDermott, admitted three charges of assaulting police officers, one charge of resisting arrest and causing criminal damage to a set of handcuffs.
