Moira Police Station Attack - Man Released

A 43-year-old man arrested by detectives investigating a car bomb attack on a police station in Moira, County Down, has been released unconditionally.

Eleven people, including seven police officers, were injured when a 500lb bomb exploded in Moira in February 1998.

The man was detained in Moy on Thursday and was questioned at Antrim police station.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.

Man Arrested Over Moira Police Station Attack
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a car bomb attack on Moira police station in 1998. The suspect is being questioned at Antrim police station. He was detained in the Moy area of County Tyrone this morning.

Moira Car Bomb Investigation - Man Released
A man who was arrested in connection with a 1998 car bomb attack on a County Down police station has been released from custody. The 47-year-old was detained by police in the Dungannon area of County Tyrone on Wednesday morning and taken to Antrim PSNI station for questioning.

Man questioned about 1988 murder
A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.
