Car Hijacked In West Belfast

Detectives are appealing for information following a car hijacking in the Hawthorne Street area of west Belfast on Saturday.

Shortly before 9pm, a woman was pulled from a black Peugeot 3008 by a man described as tall and wearing a hat and dark clothing. The man made off in the car which is thought to have been driven past Queen's University later the same night.

The woman was not physically harmed during the incident but is said to be shaken up as a result of the hijacking.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with any information is asked to contact detectives in Antrim Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the independent Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Car hijacked in Belfast city centre
Police are appealing for information following a hijacking incident close to Belfast city centre yesterday evening. Two males, both thought to be aged 18, approached the female driver of a silver Renault Megane car at the lights of the York Road and Frederick Street junction at around 9:00pm. One of the males indicated he was looking for a light.
