Appeal Over Missing Sex Offender

Police in Scotland have appealed for help in tracing a registered sex offender who has gone missing.

According to reports, 45-year-old Lorcan Halton from the Saracen area of Glasgow, was due to appear in court on 15 January 2014. However, he never showed.

He was last seen on 9 January, in Cairnryan, Dumfries and Galloway, where he boarded a ferry to Belfast.

Detectives from Police Scotland have said that despite an "extensive" search operation, any attempt to locate Halton have been unsuccessful.

An appeal has now been launched to find him and anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately. Members of the public have been warned not to approach Halton.

He is described as white, around 6ft tall and of medium build with brown hair. He also has a distinctive scar on his right arm.

When he was last spotted, he was wearing dark jeans and a shirt.

Renewed Appeal For Help Tracing Missing Woman Paula Elliott
The PSNI have issued a fresh appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of high-risk missing person Paula Elliott, who has now not been seen for three weeks. Paula, 52, was last seen on Tuesday 5th March on CCTV cameras leaving the Sprucefield Court area of Lisburn at 5.30pm, before making her way to Warren Gardens at around 5.36pm.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Appeal Following Arson Attack In South Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following an arson attack at a property in south Belfast. At approximately 10.20pm on Saturday, 13 April, police received a report of a fire at a house in the Kilburn Street area. Police attended the scene alongside the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.
