Falls Road Closed In Security Alert

Part of the Falls Road in west Belfast has been closed and residents have been evacuated from their homes as a result of a security alert.

The alert follows the discovery of a suspicious object in the area.

The road has been closed between Albert Street and North Howard Street.

Army bomb disposal experts are at the scene.

No further details are available at present.

Security Alert Ongoing In L'Derry
The Lecky Road in Derry/L'Derry is currently closed due to an ongoing security alert. The nature of the security alert has not been made clear but the road is closed between Free Derry Corner and Brandywell Road. The Lecky Flyover is also closed from the junction of Charlotte Street. Motorists have been urged to avoid the area during the alert.

The Department of Education have published a list of all schools across that have confirmed they will be closed today, Friday 2nd March, 2018 due to the adverse weather conditions.
