Security Alert Ongoing In L'Derry

The Lecky Road in Derry/L'Derry is currently closed due to an ongoing security alert.

The nature of the security alert has not been made clear but the road is closed between Free Derry Corner and Brandywell Road. The Lecky Flyover is also closed from the junction of Charlotte Street.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area during the alert.

Infrastructure Minister Welcomes Completion Of School Safety Improvements
Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon has welcomed the completion of a scheme to provide enhanced crossing facilities and improve road safety on Holywood Road, Belfast. Falls Road Closed In Security Alert
Part of the Falls Road in west Belfast has been closed and residents have been evacuated from their homes as a result of a security alert. The alert follows the discovery of a suspicious object in the area. The road has been closed between Albert Street and North Howard Street. Army bomb disposal experts are at the scene.
