Confiscation Order Carried Out Against Woman
A Confiscation Order has been carried out to the value of £6,500 against Elizabeth Dorman, 56, of Invernook Park, Belfast.
On 10 December 2013, Ms Dorman was found guilty of fraudulently claiming Income Support, Incapacity Benefit, Employment and Support Allowance and Housing Benefit. On 27 January 2014, she was given to a 24-week prison sentence, suspended for two years.
At a confiscation hearing, the Court agreed that the loss through the defendant's criminal activity amounted to £15,969. The Confiscation Order is to be satisfied by 20 June 2014 or the defendant must serve a six-month prison sentence.
Attempted Robbery In Dungannon
Four men have attempted to rob a shop in Dungannon, County Tyrone.
The men, one of whom was armed with a hammer, entered the shop on Scotch Street at around 16:20 on Sunday evening and demanded money from a staff member.
The staff member managed to get away and alerted a colleague, while one of the robbers began to hit the shop till with the hammer. The men then left empty handed.
Police want to hear from anyone who may have noticed any suspicious vehicles in the area at the time.
Cows Poisoned In Co L'Derry
Police are investigating the deaths of five cows poisoned in Kilrea, County Londonderry. It is thought that the animals were killed two weeks ago in the Carrowreagh Road area after consuming a powder that was thrown into a field between the evening of Sunday 25 May and Monday 26 May.
Anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or anyone who knows anything about this incident is asked to contact the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
Couple Robbed In Bedroom
An elderly couple have been left shocked after their home in Newry, County Down, was burgled.
The robbery occurred at the property in the Newtown Road area shortly after midnight on Sunday.
Two men, one of whom was carrying an iron bar and another who had a torch, forced entry into the couple's bedroom and demanded money, before grabbing a handbag and making off with a sum of cash.
One of the men is described as being approximately 25 to 30 years old, around 5' 8" tall, of slim build and with fair hair cut short but not shaven. He spoke with a local Newry accent.
The second is reported to be smaller and of heavier build, with fair hair and a fair complexion.
Detectives have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact them at Ardmore Police Station on the non-emergency number 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Six Arrested In Dissident Investigation
Six people have been arrested by detectives investigating dissident republican activity. The arrests were made on Tuesday in the Dunmurry and west Belfast area following a number of searches. Police said five men, aged between 31 and 58, and a 32-year-old woman had been arrested.

Two men have been mugged in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim. The incident happened in the Carnhill Place area at around 12.10am on Sunday, 21 August. Two masked men, carrying suspected firearms, threatened the victims and forced them to hand over money from their wallets. The suspects made off in the direction of Oakfield Drive.
