Sinn Féin Office Attacked In L'Derry

A Sinn Féin office in Co L'derry has been partially damaged in a suspected arson attack.

The incident happened at the premises on Eastway Road in the Creggan area shortly before midnight.

It is thought a rear window to the property was broken and a flammable liquid was poured in. The fire service attended the scene and the fire was brought under control, with the damage confined to one part of the building.

Police have launched an investigation into the blaze.

Condemning the attack, Sinn Féin assembly member Raymond McCartney, said it was "an attack the democratic process."

He added: "It will not stop us working or the people of Derry. It will be business as usual for Derry Sinn Féin, continuing to serve the people of the city an the wider north west."
