Man Arrested After Drug Seizure In North Belfast

Police have arrested a man in connection with a drug seizure in north Belfast.

Police say that suspected cocaine and herbal cannabis, worth an estimated £40,000, was recovered from a house in Jamaica Street in the Ardoyne area.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene on possession of drugs with intent to supply. He was later released on police bail.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of intimidation and criminal damage. A number of attacks on homes and cars have forced families to leave the Ballysillan area of north Belfast. A 26-year-old man was arrested and he is helping police with their enquiries.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.
