Arson Attack On Ballymena Home
Police have appealed for information following an arson attack on a home in the Francis Street area of Ballymena, County Antrim, at about 01:40 on Wednesday morning.
Police and the Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and a fire was extinguished.
Police said damage was caused to the living room of the property and several people were in the house at the time but escaped uninjured. Forensic officers have conducted an examination of the scene.
Ballymena Commander, Chief Inspector Stephen McCauley said: "Thankfully we are not dealing with fatalities or serious injury here. The attack was crude but also very dangerous. Police officers and the Fire Service arrived quickly on the scene to help the occupants of the house and take them to safety.
"I am asking anyone who knows anything about this attack to assist the police investigation by calling the non-emergency number 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Ballymena officers will also be in the area today, so please speak to one of them if you know anything that might assist the investigation."

Police blame loyalists for Ballymena bar attack
Police in Ballymena are blaming loyalists for a bomb attack on a bar in the town early this morning. Police and fire crews were called to the Glens Way Tavern on the Glenravel Road in Martinstown at around 2.30am and discovered the building well alight.

Detectives are investigating an arson attack on a block of flats in the Larne Road area of Ballymena. Police received a report of a fire at the property shortly after 6.30am on Sunday 8th December. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze, which caused significant damage to the building's communal areas.
