Appeal After Lisburn Arson Attack
Police are appealing after a man experienced an arson attack at his home in Dunmurry, Lisburn, County Antrim.
Police officers responded to an emergency call from a householder at Cherry Gardens, who reported that a flammable liquid had been poured through his letterbox and set alight.
The man was able to extinguish the fire and no one was injured.
Police have appealed for anyone who was in the vicinity of Cherry Gardens after 21:00 on September 5 and saw anything suspicious to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
The independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Young Boy Assaulted In Newtownabbey
Police are appealing for information after young boy was hurt in an incident on Church Road in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, on September 3.
An assault is alleged to have taken place outside a Mace store, police said, and the young boy suffered scrapes and bruises. It is believed a number of young male children may have been involved.
Farmer Convicted At Dungannon Court
A Magherafelt farmer has been convicted at Dungannon Magistrates' Court of one charge of "failing to notify the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the movement of a bovine animal onto his holding in accordance with the Regulations and one charge of failing to keep a herd register."
Mr Michael Lagan, Ballygrooby Road, Moneymore, Magherafelt, County L'Derry, pleaded guilty and was fined £550 plus £37 costs and £15 offenders levy.
The case arose from a number of discrepancies found at a joint DARD/PSNI cattle identification inspection.
Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
A man has been convicted at Dungannon Magistrates' Court for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
49-year-old George Corr of Creevelough Road, Dungannon claimed Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £4,441 while failing to declare employment. He was given 200 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £34.
Mr Corr has repaid in full the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Colin Horner
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Colin Horner in Bangor, Co Down. Mr Horner was fatally shot outside a supermarket in from of his young son on 28 May this year. The suspect has been taken to Musgrave police station to be questioned.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.

A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following an assault in the Ardilea Park area of Downpatrick in the early hours of Sunday morning, 10 December. A 22-year-old man was found with serious stab wounds at a house in the Killough Road area just after 4am. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
