A school is Strabane has been forced to close after a suspicious device was found in the Ballycolman estate.
The police also issued a warning for the people living in Strabane to be vigilant after an object was thrown at a police vehicle.
The device was discovered near the water pumping station in Ballycolman.
SDLP Strabane Councillor Patsy Kelly said: "This is adding to the disruption and hassle local residents are putting up with due to the whims of those who have no regard for life or community.
"Thankfully, nobody has had to be evacuated from their home as of yet, however the disruption caused by the presence of the emergency services and the worry that yet another suspicious device has been found is a worry to all the residents here. The local primary school took their own decision to evacuate the school and I back that as children’s safety is paramount."
