Attempted Armed Robbery In West Belfast

Two men have attempted to carry out an armed robbery in west Belfast.

The men entered the premises in the Suffolk Road area on Thursday at about 19:30 armed with a gun and a hammer.

They hit a glass partition in the shop several times before leaving empty-handed.

Members of staff escaped to a back room and were left badly shaken.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Woodbourne PSNI Station on the non-emergency number 101.

Police are investigating two apparently separate armed robberies in east and west Belfast. The first occurred at a fast food outlet on the Falls Road in west Belfast on the evening of Monday 12 January. Two men, one armed with a knife, entered the premises at around 19:00 and threatened staff.

Two armed men have threatened staff during a robbery at a shop in east Belfast. The incident happened at premises on the Upper Newtownards Road in Dundonald at around 7.20am on Friday, 21 July. The men, armed with knives made off with a sum of cash. No one was injured.

Two Armed Men Rob Shop In West Belfast
Two armed men wearing Halloween masks have robbed a shop in west Belfast. The incident happened in the Shankill Road area just before 10am on Saturday, 06 October. The men, armed with hammers, demanded money and then fled the premises. Staff were left badly shaken, however there were no injuries.

Image Released Following Attempted Armed Robbery In 2014
Police have released an image of a man following an attempted armed robbery at a commercial premises in north Belfast in 2014. The incident happened on the Cavehill Road on Tuesday 02 December at around 6pm. A man entered an off licence and struck a till with a hammer. He made off empty handed and no-one was injured in the incident.

Police Appeal Following Armed Robbery In South Belfast
Police are appealing for information in connection with an armed robbery at a bookmakers in Belfast. Two men, one armed with a knife, entered the premises on Botanic Avenue in south Belfast on Tuesday at around 2.40pm. A male customer confronted the thief with a knife, and sustained a cut on his arm. The men made off on foot empty-handed.
