Man, 31, Critical Following Assault

A 31-year-old man is said to be in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted in Portrush.

At around 1.50am this morning (Thursday 18 December), an altercation occurred close to a takeaway restaurant in the Dunluce Avenue area of the town. A window was shattered as a result.

The man is thought to have been assaulted by three males and two females in the incident. He was taken to hospital for his injuries.

He is said to be in a critical, but stable, condition.

Anyone who has information, or who witnessed the attack, is asked to contact police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Man Dies In Portadown Road Crash
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Portadown. The crash happened on the Dungannon Road between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, 08 November. The road has been re-opened. Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 30's, has died in a road collision in Co Antrim.

Man Seriously Assaulted In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after a man was attacked in north Belfast. The victim, aged in his 40s, was assaulted by a gang outside licensed premises in the Flax Street area at around 5.25am on Sunday, 17 July. The man sustained injuries to his head and is currently in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

Five die on NI roads over the weekend
Five people have died on Northern Ireland's roads over the weekend. In Co Tyrone last night, two people died when a car and a four-wheel-drive collided just outside the village of Augher. A woman passenger in the car is still in critical condition following the accident.
