Windows Smashed In Newtownabbey Attack

A man has been arrested by police after a number of houses and cars had their windows smashed in Newtownabbey, County Antrim.

The 36-year-old was detained on suspicion of criminal damage.

The attacks occurred at Graymount Drive in the early hours of Thursday morning.

It is thought that eight houses and six cars were targeted in total, between 03:00 and 03:30.

Shots Fired At House In Coleraine

Shots have been fired at a house in Coleraine, County L'Derry.

Police attended the scene on Thursday morning in the early house and found windows in the property had been smashed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

Turkey Chicks Killed In Fire

A fire in County Antrim has led to the deaths of thousands of turkey chicks.

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended the scene on Shelton Road in Loughguile on Wednesday.

New £1m 'Glamping' Facility Announced

The Department of Agriculture has announced a new £1m caravan and camping facility at Glenariff Forest Park in County Antrim.

The new facility, which will include provision for nine 'glamping' pods and the capacity for 36 caravans and campervans, will be open to campers by this autumn.

Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neill said: "There is considerable interest across the north of Ireland in camping and caravan breaks so this very exciting project at Glenariff will certainly add a bit of glamour to the experience.

"It also helps provide welcome support for forest-based tourism and builds on the partnership developed between the Forest Service and Moyle District Council. We now look forward to cementing the relationship between my department and the new Causeway Coast and Glens District Council."

2nd Year Of Safety Equipment Initiative For Domestic Abuse Victims
An initiative providing security equipment to victims of domestic abuse who live in the Derry City & Strabane District has entered its second year. The aim of the initiative to help victims feel safer involves The Police Service of Northern Ireland and Derry and Strabane Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP).
