Man Charged With Murder Of Pauline Carmichael

Police investigating the death of Pauline Carmichael have charged a 37-year-old man with her murder.

Ms Carmichael's body was found on the shore of Lough Neagh on Wednesday.

A search operation was launched following the 61-year-old's disappearance two days earlier, on Monday.

Police had arrested two men in connection with her disappearance. One was released "unconditionally", while a 37-year-old has now been charged with murder.

He is due to appear in court on Friday.

Employee Threatened With Hammer In Belfast Armed Robbery
Police are appealing for information after a man armed with a hammer robbed a shop in south Belfast. A business premises on University Road in the south of the city was targeted between 7pm and 7.30 on Monday 15 April. The armed male entered the shop and demanded money from a member of staff while threatening them with a claw hammer.

Police have issued a warning to those behind a spate of attacks on election posters in L'Derry. "Respect freedom of speech and support the right to a free democratic vote," an officer said, after posters were damaged, removed and destroyed in various incidents. Police have apprehended some individuals and are in the process of prosecuting them.

Thieves Rip ATM From Wall In County Antrim Village
A group of thieves have ripped an ATM from the wall of a shop in Bushmills, County Antrim. A business in Market Square was targeted in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 16 April, marking the tenth cash machine to be stolen in Northern Ireland this year.
