Man Arrested Over Gerard 'Jock' Davison Murder

Police investigating the murder of Gerard 'Jock' Davison have arrested a 42-year-old man.

The former IRA Commander, 47, was shot several times in the Markets area of Belfast on Tuesday morning.

The man has been detained by police.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Conor McKee
A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Conor McKee. Mr McKee was found dead at his home in Glenpark Street in north Belfast on Thursday, 07 January. He had been shot a number of times. The suspect is being questioned at a police station in Belfast.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Man questioned about 1988 murder
A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.

Man charged after loyalists open fire on police
A 30-year-old man has been arrested after police vehicles were fired on in north Belfast last night. Three police vehicles – with eight officers on board – were hit by gunfire after responding to reports of serious disturbances in the staunchly loyalist Westland Road area of north Belfast.
