Theresa Villiers To Remain Secretary Of State
Theresa Villiers is to remain as Secretary of State, Prime Minister David Cameron has confirmed.
He made the announcement via Twitter.
Other appointments announced were:
David Mundell will become Secretary of State for Scotland.
Greg Hands will become Chief Secretary to the Treasury. He will attend Cabinet.
Stephen Crabb will remain Secretary of State for Wales.
Oliver Letwin will become a full member of Cabinet and will be in overall charge of the Cabinet Office.
Jeremy Hunt remains as Secretary of State at the Department of Health.
Justine Greening will remain Secretary of State at the Department for International Development.
Patrick McLoughlin will remain as Secretary of State for Transport.
Iain Duncan Smith will remain as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
Belfast Actor Scoops BAFTA Award
Culture Minister Carál Ní Chuilín has congratulated Belfast actor Stephen Rea on his success at the BAFTA Television Awards.
He won the award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the BBC drama The Honourable Woman.
Speaking about the success, the Minister said: “Stephen Rea is one of the great Irish actors, ranking alongside the many other iconic names in the field to come from this island. For decades, Stephen has worked in film, television and theatre and has appeared in works of international renown.
"Stephen has won several awards in the past, including an Irish Academy Award, and been Oscar and Golden Globe nominated. This latest success underlines his supreme talent.
"I also congratulate James Nesbitt and Brendan O’Carroll on their nominations. Although they did not take home the awards on this occasion, their shortlisting is further proof of the considerable impact Irish artists continue to have on the industry."
Significant Progress Being Made On Railway Station Redevelopment
Significant progress is being made on the redevelopment of the old Waterside railway station in L'Derry.
Translink have now issued a pre-qualification questionnaire for design services, Sinn Féin MLA Maeve McLaughlin confirmed.
The Foyle MLA said: "Translink will also issue an invitation to tender documents shortly which will include the project of redeveloping the old Waterside station into a modern station.
"This progress is welcome and marks another step forward towards the full redevelopment of the old station, which is widely regarded as an architectural treasure, into the type of modern station that Derry needs and deserves."

The visit comes just over a year since the company acquired the yard and launched its ambitious plans to modernise the facility for the future.

Alliance Environment spokesperson John Blair MLA has urged Secretary of State Hilary Benn to intervene to ensure the creation of an independent Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA). Mr Blair noted that the establishment of the body was a commitment made by all major parties within the New Decade, New Approach agreement.
