Man Injured Following Attack In Bangor

A man has been injured after a gang assaulted him in Bangor on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred in the Central Avenue area at around 10.40pm.

The victim, 42, received injuries to his head and torso, however they are not believed to be threatening.

Four masked men entered a house and assaulted the man with baseball bats, according to the police.

Detective Sergeant Richard Dunlop said: "I would appeal to anyone with information about this incident to contact Detectives at Bangor police station on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Man Fatally Stabbed In Bangor
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in Bangor, County Down. According to reports, police responded to an incident on Beatrice Street in the town shortly after midnight, Wednesday 14 July. Upon arrival at the scene a 53-year-old man was found with stab wounds.

Man shot in Bangor attack
Police in North Down have appealed for information, following a shooting incident yesterday evening. The incident happened in the Whitehill Drive area of Bangor just before 11pm, when the 21-year-old man was approached by two men wearing ski masks. One of the men produced a gun and subsequently shot the victim in the left leg.

Holywood filling station robbed
A male shop assistant has been threatened at gunpoint at a filling station in Co Down. The employee was confronted by two men, one of whom had a hand gun, at around 8pm when they entered the store on the Ballymiscaw Road, Holywood and demanded money.

Bangor Awarded City Status
Bangor has been given official City Status as part of the 2022 Platinum Jubilee Civic Honours Competition, Ards and North Down Borough Council has announced. For the first time in a City Status competition, an expert panel worked with Ministers to make their recommendations, before being approved by Her Majesty The Queen.

Police Appeal After Teenager 'Suspiciously Approached' In Co Down
Police are appealing for information after a teenage girl was "suspiciously approached" in Bangor, Co Down. The incident happened in the Castle Park Avenue area at around 5pm on Wednesday, 14 September. Police received a report that a man attempted to speak to a 15-year-old girl several times as she was walking towards the Town Hall.
