Building Work Begins On Housing Development In L'Derry
Building work has started on one of the largest social housing schemes in Northern Ireland in over ten years.
Developed by Apex Housing Association, the new scheme on Skeoge Link Road in L'Derry will deliver over 197 new homes.
The work is expected to be complete in spring 2017.
Two Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
Two people from Belfast have been convicted for claiming benefits they were not entitled to at Belfast Magistrates' Court.
Janine Gawley, 50, claimed Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £7,579 while failing to declare employment. She was given a 12 month conditional discharge and fined £300.
James McEvoy, 48, claimed Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £2,719 while failing to declare employment. He was fined £100.
Both are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
DSD And Council Allocate £4.5m Towards Public Realm Works
The Department for Social Development (DSD) and Mid Ulster District Council have allocated £4.5 million towards Public Realm works of £8m in Cookstown, Dungannon and Magherafelt.
The works will include upgrading pedestrian areas and pavements with high quality materials, improved lighting provision, undergrounding of overhead cables, new street furniture, signage and tree planting.
The public realm works will be carried out in the following areas:
• Cookstown - James Street, William Street and adjoining streets to the east and west.
• Dungannon - Scotch Street, Ann Street, George Street, William Street, Thomas Street, Perry Street and Northland Row.
• Magherafelt - The Diamond and connecting streets including Market Street, Rainey Street, Broad Street and Queen Street.

Benefit Frauds 'Jailed' For False Claims
Three benefit frauds from across NI have been handed down gaol sentences for defrauding the Government of money to which they were not entitled. James Logue (45) of Main Street, Castlederg was convicted at Strabane Magistrates' court after he claimed Housing Benefit totalling £2,057 by making a false statement of occupation.

Crumlin Social Housing Scheme Opened
A new social housing scheme of three and four bedroom houses has been officially opened in Crumlin. The fourteen new homes for families on the social housing waiting list, is owned and managed by Habinteg Housing Association who funded the build, with support from the Department for Social Development.

Ordnance Survey calls for more support from district councils
The Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland (OSNI) today urged more district councils to help the agency produce up-to-date street maps of the Province’s main towns. Chief Executive, Mick Cory made the call following inaccurate press reports earlier this week on OSNI’s role and responsibility in producing street maps.
