Man Arrested Over Human Trafficking Offences

A man has been arrested in connection with the trafficking of a number of people in south Armagh.

The man has been detained on suspicion of Human Trafficking for Securing Services between 01 January and 17 July 2015, a number of fraud offences, money laundering and gangmaster offences.

The arrest follows a multi-agency PSNI led proactive operation against human trafficking for labour exploitation when police rescued 16 victims of Human Trafficking working in the agricultural sector in South Armagh on Friday 17 July.

Man Arrested In Belfast For Human Trafficking Offences
A man has been arrested in east Belfast on suspicion of domestic servitude, the first arrest of its kind in Northern Ireland according to the PSNI. Detectives from the PSNI's Modern Slavery and human Trafficking Unit (MSHTU) arrested the 33-year-old on Tuesday 30 April.

Man Wanted In Ireland On Drug Offences Arrested In South Belfast
A 59-year-old man wanted in the Republic of Ireland has been arrested in south Belfast by the PSNI's International Policing Unit. Wanted to stand trial for drugs offences that occurred in the Kilkenny area in 2012.
