Man Arrested In Connection With Drugs And Firearm Seizure

A 54-year-old man has been arrested after police seized drugs worth an estimated street value of £15,000 and a suspected firearm.

Police discovered the drugs and firearm during two house searches in east Belfast on Thursday and the search of a car in north Belfast on Wednesday.

The man has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Commenting on the seizure, Superintendent Darrin Jones said: "This was a significant find and has taken potentially dangerous drugs and a suspected firearm of the streets of Belfast. Police in the city remain focussed on tackling illegal drugs issues within the justice system in order to keep people safe."

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

A man has been arrested after police seized a suspected firearm and drugs in south Belfast. Police found Class A, B and C drugs and drugs paraphernalia during a planned search of a property in the Ormeau Road area on Wednesday. The 46-year-old suspect is being detained at Musgrave police station.

Man Arrested After Police Launch Investigation Over Taxi Gun Video
Police investigating a video showing video footage of a taxi driver with a suspected gun have arrested a 48-year-old man. The suspect was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of a number of offences which include possession of a firearm or imitation firearm.

Suspected Firearm Found In West Belfast
A security operation in west Belfast has now ended. A suspected firearm was found during police searches in the Upper Springfield Road. Diversions were put in place and the area was sealed off. The item has been taken away for further examination and the road has been re-opened.

Investigation Launched After Death Of Man Following Suspected Drugs Incident
Police have launched an investigation after the death of a 27-year-old man following a suspected drugs incident. The man died on Sunday, 04 December, following the incident in the Victoria Street area of Belfast.
