Coalisland Murder: Man Arrested

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Gediminas Stauskas.

The body of Gediminas Stauskas, 32, was discovered in the Moor Road area in Coalisland at around 1pm last Thursday.

Mr Stauskas was a Lithuanian national with connections in the Dungannon area.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee McNevison said: "The suspect had been arrested last Tuesday night in Portadown as part of a separate investigation into two shootings in Newry last month.

"He will now be interviewed at Musgrave police station about the murder of Mr Stauskas whose body was found in a garage at Moor Road in Coalisland on 15 October."

Mr Stauskas was a Lithuanian national with connections in the Dungannon area. The suspect is due to appear at Enniskillen Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police have renewed their appeal for information on the first anniversary of the "callous" murder of David Murphy in Co Antrim. The 52 year-old was shot dead at his home on the Church Road, Glenwherry in the days leading up to Tuesday 19 February 2019. His friend discovered the body.

Serious Collision Closes Co Antrim Route
A Co Antrim road has been closed due to a "serious traffic collision", police have said. Drivers are advised to avoid the Duneany Road, Glarryford in Ballymena this afternoon, Wednesday 19 while the crash is managed. Diversions are in place at the Glenvale Estate and on the Duneany Road in Rasharkin village.
