Man Armed With Hatchet Robs Shop In North Belfast

A man armed with a hatchet has robbed a shop in north Belfast.

The incident occurred at premises just before 7.30pm on the Serpentine Road on Sunday.

Staff members were threatened by the man and he made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect is described as being of medium build with fair skin and was wearing a blue coat.

A man was arrested on Sunday and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Elsewhere, police have launched an investigation after a man armed with a hammer robbed a shop in the Antrim Road area of north Belfast.

The incident happened at around 7.20pm on Saturday.

The man threatened staff and made off with a sum of cash.

No-one was injured in the incidents.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

PSNI 'Increasingly Concerned' For Missing North Belfast Man
The PSNI are increasingly concerned for a missing north Belfast man who may have travelled towards Larne. 39-year-old C Brady was last seen in the Skegoniel area at around 5.30pm on 05 January. He is believed to have travelled towards Larne in a silver Toyota Yaris, registration number FFZ 5221.

Two Arrested Following Police Pursuit From Ballyclare
Two men have been arrested after they failed to stop for police and were involved in a pursuit on the afternoon of Tuesday, 22 November. Shortly after 3:10pm yesteday, it was reported that a Citroën C3 car failed to stop as it was travelling along the Doagh Road area of Ballyclare.

Teen Arrested On Suspicion Of Endangering An Aircraft
A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft in north Belfast. A 19-year-old man pointed a laser at a police helicopter on Thursday, 05 October. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Not only is this type of behaviour an offence, but it is also highly irresponsible and dangerous.
