Man Arrested After Class B Drugs Found In Van

A man has been arrested after he failed to stop for police in east Belfast and was in possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply.

A van, which was travelling on the Castlereagh Road on Sunday night, failed to stop for police and was discovered a short time later crashed and abandoned on the Gransha Road.

A quantity of suspected cannabis was found in the van.

The man, in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply after a follow up search of a house in Belfast.

He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Death Of Kilkeel Man Being Treated As Murder
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Kilkeel. On Thursday, 21 March, police received a report of a concern for safety for a couple at a property in the Newcastle Road area of the town shortly after 12.50pm. On arrival, officers located the body of a man who was unconscious and not breathing.

Man Arrested In Connection With 1992 Police Officer Murder
A 59-year-old man has been arrested at Birmingham Airport in connection with a fatal mortar attack in Newry in 1992. The man was arrested on Wednesday, 21 February by detectives from PSNI's Legacy Investigation Branch, investigating the murder of Constable Colleen McMurray and the attempted murder of her colleague in 1992.
