CAB introduces new 24/7 information website
The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) in Northern Ireland has launched a new website aimed at improving its advice service for the general public.
The site at www.adviceguide.org.uk offers 24/7 advice to the public on a self-serve basis and is a joint development by CAB across the UK. The site carries information relevant to the different jurisdictions in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales.
Commenting on the new site,CAB’s Chief Executive in Northern Ireland Derek Alcorn said: “We are delighted with this new development which breaks down the barriers of office hours, putting practical and reliable information at the fingertips of the public. Work is also proceeding on translating the website into a range of languages including Chinese, Bengali, Urdu, Gujatati and Punjabi.”
Mr Alcorn said the website was an important component of CAB’s equality strategy in Northern Ireland, and an important new electronic interface between citizens and public services.
Citizens Advice is the largest advice charity in Northern Ireland delivering advice to some 158,000 people a year from a network of 28 offices and 109 other outlets.
