Elderly women confronted by robbers

Police are appealing for information after a woman and her elderly mother had their east Belfast home robbed last night.

Three men entered the house at Ranleigh Street, off the Ravenhill Road at around 9.30pm on Thursday. The men first forced their way into the living room where the mother was and then went to a bedroom where her daughter was asleep. Although she confronted the men, they knocked her to the ground.

The men eventually escaped from the house with a sum of money.

The daughter suffered a back injury following the altercation while her mother was treated for shock.
