Online Carer Service Welcomed

The introduction of an online carer service has been welcomed by Sinn Féin.

The new digital service will allow carers to check online what they are entitled to and put in a claim or declare a change of circumstance.

MLA Bronwyn McGahan said: "This scheme has been trialed in England and has had favourable responses from users as it is designed to only ask questions relevant to the individual case based upon previous answers.

"The roll-out of this new service began on 29th February and I would appeal to carers who have queries on their claims to use the system by logging on at www.nidirect.gov.uk/carers-allowance-how-to-claim."
